We research pioneering technologies

Our work focuses on increasing the efficiency of photovoltaic systems and optimizing electrolytic processes with renewable energy. Our aim is to use hydrogen to stabilize the electricity grids by controlling the load or storing surplus electricity from photovoltaic systems. By further developing these approaches, we are making a decisive contribution to the energy transition.

Fields of research

Our research focuses on key topics that will shape the future of energy supply. We are working on innovative solutions to establish hydrogen as a key technology for the energy transition. We cover a broad spectrum – from increasing efficiency in the use of photovoltaics for hydrogen production to the optimization of electrolysis processes and the stabilization of power grids through intelligent storage solutions. With these fields of research, we are creating the basis for a sustainable and resilient energy infrastructure.

H2E - Hydrogen to Energy

As part of the “H2E – Hydrogen to Energy” project, an energy management system (EMS) was developed to optimize the energy flows of a hydrogen plant.

Description

To develop an innovative energy management system (EMS), a pilot plant for the production, storage and use of hydrogen was initially set up. The project focused on developing the EMS in order to precisely control energy flows and sustainably optimize efficiency. By investing in these pioneering technologies, X2E SE GmbH is sending a clear signal for a sustainable and climate-friendly future.

Development of an electrolysis periphery

Description

The aim of the study is to develop an initial peripheral concept for the operation of various electrolysis stacks. To this end, market analyses will be carried out, suitable test methods and measurement techniques for evaluating the reliability and performance of electrolysis stacks will be determined and existing electrolysis concepts and their peripherals will be examined.
